  2. That pipe trenching machine is certainly a beast. It’s pretty amazing how it’s able to separate rocks out from the dirt like that. The followers peering into the trench with cigarettes dangling from their mouths with their shovels in hand at the ready, look like fit & hardy, “Cool Hand Luke” types. The two men wearing the wide-brimmed hats look so similar it feels like they could be father and son.

    Everyone was doing their best to make rent and put food on the table while doing their part to contribute to the war effort.
