These two gentlemen look like they work at Crouchley Plumbing Co. rather than J.R. Chauncey Jeweler. The businesses in 1931 were at 204 and 204-1/2 N. Jersey Avenue; that’s 8709 N. Lombard using today’s street numbers. The Crouchley Plumbing Co. has been in business since 1907 and you can still walk into their office two doors down at 8717 N. Lombard.
I doubt they could have envisioned their storefront would become a doggie day care 80 years later! 😀

What’s the building with the cupola (?) in the reflection in the window? Not too savvy on my St. Johns geography
@ TGG: Are you talking about the reflection in the upper window directly above the “Crouchley” sign? That looks like the top of a lamp post. You can see the post in the lower window directly below it.
The style of the photographer reminds me of the photos of the soda fountain at the unknown location posted a few weeks ago.
@Christopher – and it’s the same era/year. You have to wonder if the it IS the same photographer and perhaps he/she was photographing businesses in the area. Perhaps those mystery locations were in St. Johns…?
The entry on July 20th on Glisan is the same era/type of photo. Not in St Johns.
I think Christopher is referring to the June 12th pictures.
I know he’s referring to Junes pictures. I’m saying July 12th is similar and not in St johns so that throws out the theory that the June pictures are in St Johns. They could be anywhere.
