Finding your way around “Pill Hill” and the US Veteran’s Hospital grounds was a much less daunting task in 1930 than it is now. This was long before Oregon Health & Science University and Portland Shriners Hospital began building on the hill.

Dear Friend,
I’m making a movie about a 1930s family who lived in Goble, Oregon. The father had to travel to the Veterans Hospital for cancer treatment. I’m working on a shoestring, but would like permission to use this veterans hospital photo in the highest definition you have available. Thanks for letting me know if this is possible. My email address is kathymarson@yahoo.com
Makenzie Hall was being built in 1919 up on the hill, at least 10 years before this photo. Look closely and you can also see the first Children’s Development and Rehabiltation center.
