Hard to tell if Webb’s barber shop was in a stand-alone building or if it was a part of the building to the right, which I believe was the 1876 Coulter & Church building. They share some first floor cast-iron pieces but that’s all they have in common. The pretty little building was at 67 SW Morrison, between Front and 1st Avenue, in this 1959 photo.
George Holman and his associate did business at 2072 NW Glisan back in 1936. This spot, minus the big window, is now a back door at the Blue Moon Tavern & Grill at 21st and Glisan. The door to the left belongs to the Westonia Apartment building next door.
Portland’s working men could get almost anything they needed on the corner of West Burnside and SW 5th in 1928. Clothing, shoes, raingear, hats and more could be found here. Step next door and get the shoes shined or a shave. There are several ghost pedestrians in this photo as well as a street sweeper with his broom and cart. This view is west on Burnside to the right and south on 5th to the left. The edge of this building can be seen on this previous post.
