Ground floor of the Ace Hotel, next door to Monte Shelton’s Motor Company. It was Demetri’s for a long time. I worked at the Mexicali Express that was across 17th and a buddy from back home worked for Monte Shelton’s. This was in the late 80s/early 90s. A very interesting time in an interesting neigbhorhood.
I had a couple of nice family get-togethers at Demetri’s, they had delicious food.

In the 1952 there were dozens of classified ads for “Denny’s Pet Store & Pet Supplies” at 17th & W. Burnside, but his business was on the opposite side of Burnside @ 1733 W Burnside, i don’t know how many went into the pet store for a meal of chicken or steak.
Pet store address was 1733 W Burnside — Restaurant address 1650 W Burnside
I wonder if they got a Cease and Desist from the “other” Denny’s.
In the 1950s they wouldn’t have had to worry about the “other” Denny’s since that chain wasn’t yet known as “Denny’s.”
