  1. It’s interesting to see how the architectural styles of house building changed in the U.S. from the 1930s to the 1960s and the houses shown here are a good example. The house at the top of the hill in the distance was probably built sometime after WWII. It has multiple roof angles, a fireplace, a living room hearth, it has a more inviting “bungalow” look about it. The other homes are staunchly rectangular with a plain simple roofline. These houses are all about enjoying views, privacy, and entertaining outdoors (lots of decks).

    The trees and shrubbery that have been planted in this area over the past 50 years have really altered the views from this vantage point.

  2. These homes were generally built before I-5 was completed and heavily trafficked. The great views probably became less desirable than the traffic noise and pollution that the trees mitigated.

  3. see them concrete patio blocks on the edge of the street i got a couple of them ! they don’t make them like that now there are thinner than they use to be the home depot has these blocks there not cheap about 2.50 each they come in gray & red color 12×12
