The late Cubby O’Brien would be rolling in his grave if he we’re alive to see this!
Today: More arborvitae and fewer liquor ads.
Billy…? The Mousketeer?
a. He’s still alive.
b. Whaaa…?
I think the Cubby O’Brien thing is some sort of in-joke.
It’s cool to see a house at the SE corner in this old view, left over from the widening of SW Naito.
We had a low-rise downtown then.
I think the Hilton Hotel on Broadway topped off at 5 stories
For everyone’s edification it’s called Front Ave not Natio Parkway. Remember it’s 1963. We don’t do no PC on VP.
Unclear as to why renaming a street after a Portland-born, long standing businessman and preservationist is somehow “PC”.
i just hate that all the old stuff has ripped from our city !!! every thing is too new and cold
