One of the more compelling endeavors in early 50’s was the Woodstock Resurfacing Project. It’s well documented and paved the way for better roads.

Classic 1950s style – blue jeans and white t-shirts.
Like so many streets in Portland they did not remove the streetcar tracks to lower the crown of the street. The old streetcar routes have crowns higher than the curbs.
Nice ! 60 amp electric service.
I know Henry Huggins lived in Northeast, but maybe he rode his bike down in time to get his picture taken.
