    The soap box derby track is still there today, located between SE Reservoir Loop Drive and Reservoir #5.

  2. It’s actually still there. It’s on the west side of the park, just above Reservoir 5. That’s the kidney-shaped reservoir about halfway to the top. The track is just a few hundred yards above, or east, of the reservoir.

  3. Started in Ohio in the early 30’s. Chevrolet was asked to be a sponsor nationwide. Chevy was the sponsor in 1935 when the derby was held at “derby hill” at 82nd and Tillamook.
