  1. Mt Tabor car line tracks tuning south to the turn around at Hall Street, rode it often from there to home in the SE.

  2. Have seen this picture many times through the years. This was the year of their national convention held July 8th thru the 13th of that year.

  3. The Elks convention drew delegates from all over the country and even included a large group (about 50) from Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. (Oregonian, June 19, 1912).

    Does anyone have any idea what the marchers are holding? They look like leashes for an invisible dog; like the guy in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”.

  4. Dennis… Monopole was a line of high quality canned goods put out by the Portland wholesale firm of Wadham’s and Kerr. Real popular in that era. They also sold coffee and spices with the coffee being packaged in glass jars of their own making.
