  2. I loved The Portland Traction Company! Our next door neighbor drove one of the bus routes. The great thing about the PTC in its heyday was that you could go anywhere in town, from the toniest neighborhoods to the worst on a bus or streetcar. Sometimes you had to get a paper transfer but you really didn’t need a car to get anywhere in town. The wait time was seldom any more than 15 minutes except after midnight.
