  1. I really think this must be earlier than 1967. The newest car I see is a ’55 or ’56 Chevy. The Volkswagens may be newer than those but still I feel this picture is earlier than 1967.

  2. broke college kids and their second-hand cars. that’s a 63 or earlier vw bus in the background… but the car in the immediate foreground looks to be at least mid-60s. what’s the sporty number at right?

  3. I would hazard a guess on the red sports car on the right margin: possibly Alfa Romeo, vintage around 1964. Wheels and fender look right, based solely on my memory (I owned a yellow one once upon a time.)

  4. The fender of the red sports car on the right looks like a Sunbeam Alpine. ‘Typical’ PSC professor car of the era…

  5. while the spider is close, i’d go with the alpha… windscreen looks farther away from wheel well than spider, and there is clearly a logo just behind the wheel in the picture, which the spider lacks.
hubcaps look like the series iv, which would put it 64 – 65.
c’mon, american iron folks, someone should recognize the foreground car!

  6. The dark car barely showing at the bottom right corner is a 1965 or 1966 Ford. Not enough showing to indicate the exact year model.

  7. Steve
That is very easy to guess.
Do you remember the Columbus Day storm of 1962.
They probably ran out of the right color shingle.
That was just before I started hauling truckloads of scrap paper to Bird and Sons for recycling.

  8. The cars in this picture and last week’s shot of this area are the same. Tan VW, Blue Plymouth. So by crosschecking it looks like the car in the foreground is a ’66 Ford.

  9. I am always fascinated by the number of nice looking 10-15 year old cars in these pictures. The same scene from the Midwest or East Coast would be lucky to have any and if there were any half of their body’s would be missing due to rust. Good thing we don’t salt the roads.

  10. What little is shown in the photo at the bottom right is a 1965 or 1966 Ford Custom 500 or Galaxie 500 two door or four door sedan. Nothing in the photo can indicate whether a two door or four door sedan.

shows a 1965 Ford Custom or Custom 500 4 door sedan in a dark color. It is a commercial owned car with a drivers door seal/badge and there is no evidence it would ever appear in the neighborhood again.

It is difficult to identify “exactly” what year and model the partial view of the Ford is. But it is clear enough to say that it is a 1965 or 1966 Ford Custom 500 or Galaxie 500 two or four door sedan.
