  1. The above photo from 1960 appears to have been taken from roughly the same vantage point as a photo that was shot in 1892, which also appears on Vintage Portland. The old building at lower right (now used by Portland BMW for storage and detailing, I think) appears in both.   2. I was thinking that it’s too bad the clouds are blocking the top of Mt. St. Helens. It was a beautiful mountain before it blew.

  3. I do see the new Coliseum getting built on this beautiful clear day in 1960 (right center of photo, to the right of the Broadway bridge).
