Didn’t know Gilmore gas made it up here.
I remember the Signal Gas station on Cedar Hills Blvd near Bernard’s Field.
Out in the country it seemed then (mid fifties).
If the picture was wider it would show the still existing Piggly Wiggly building on the left that became Bob’s Rentals for years. On the right would have been the diner made of McKeen RR motor cars.
The center median was the earliest example I had seen of the modern rumble strips on the freeways. With more of them appearing on the traffic lines we will soon be able to drive by braille.

Great pic! In those days that highway was state of the art and much needed. Still is, but much more traffic..
How did the highway get so low today ?
