Vintage Portland Update!

Next week there will be a slight change to the appearance of the Vintage Portland website. The information and frequency of the posts will stay the same. However, the site will be presented in a clearer format. Please feel free to email us with any questions or concerns about the changes.

  1. Will we still be able to zoom in so that it seems like we are right there at the site of the images? I certainly hope so because I have such a good time doing that. Thanks!

  2. Oh my, I don’t envy you the task of upgrading the site. My experience over the years, and over many a website with a loyal following, has been that almost every upgrade to a site is met with at least much grousing and grumbling, if not actually howls of protest, after the fact (and this is true even when the upgrade is in fact an improvement). It seems once people are familiar with something and have a sense of a personal stake in it, they are loathe to see it changed. And this site in particular, one must admit, is almost by design, followed by a group of people who look askance at getting rid of the old to make way for the new, so good luck! And, by the way, as one of those followers, this is not a criticism at all, just an observation.🙂

  3. Brian…I totally agree, but you gotta admit…it’s like getting a new remote…your fingers are so used to where this button is or that button is, that it’s sometimes a little hard to get your fingers and your brain to work together again…at least for a little while anyway!

I don’t recall, however, seeing anything previously mentioned or posted regarding what changes WE might like to see, but none-the-less, I’m thinking positive thoughts and I’m looking forward to the “New And Improved” website! Problem is…now I can’t wait!

And to all those at Vintage Portland…I wish you all patience you’ll need and the best of luck with all the changes you’ve been working on…especially the patience part!

  4. Cool I love this site!!! Its always nice to see all the pics and to know a little history of the great city of Portland.
