Were they dumping dredging spoils on the bank at upper right? That area would be extra pollutey!
I assume we’re looking southeast. Interesting how underdeveloped Mocks Bottom was at that time. It’s now all built out with Daimler, UPS, etc., which must have been relatively recent development.
I can remember my grandfather sneaking me in one morning. I was very young and it was right before he retired. Rode around in his cart and watched him scale and grease the large cranes.
