Laurelhurst has always been one of my favorite parks in Portland. I used to live across the street from it in the 3800 block of SE Stark. When I was on the cross country & track teams at Central Catholic HS in the 60s we would often run the trails there.
Took my first skateboard ride in Laurelhurst with Glen in 1964. Fell off and scraped up my knee. My brain was only 18 years old had not yet developed enough to realize the need for a helmet or knee/elbow pads.
