NE Union Avenue, 1929

The building with this odd configuration is long gone from NE Union Avenue between San Rafael and Tillamook Streets. The section to the left looks like a duplex or rooming house, while Mr. Elliott may have been running his sharpening business from the front of his home on the right.

is this the east or west side of the street? I live on Rodney between Tillamook and San Rafael and I sit at the light there several times a day. Really digging the posts from the Albina area. Would love to see one of my street or my house! (1890 Queen Anne)

I like the ’28 Oldsmobile tudor!

Numbers Man is a pipe smoker? Have we seen that before?

  4. lefty Says:

@Dave Brunker: This same Numberman was smoking a pipe at the Gladsheim Sanitarium and its neighboring house posted the following day…

Mark, based on the shadows I think it would have been on the west side of the block.

    I could be wrong.

definitely west side – 426 Union Avenue North. The ‘for sale’ building was gone by 1933, and Mr Elliott’s saw shop building was gone before World War 2 ended.
