SW 3rd & Jefferson, 1953

This old building featuring some cast-iron elements stood on the northwest corner of SW 3rd and Jefferson. It, along with everything else on the block, was demolished in the early 1970s. Terry Schrunk Plaza now covers the block.

  1. Such a shame, what a beautiful building. Love the doorway / entrance to the upstairs apartments / offices at far right.

I always enjoy seeing the people in these photos, wondering what they’re up to and if they’re still around today. That boy at the right is probably 60-ish today. Wonder who he is and if he’s still living around here?

  2. Being ambivalent about the design of Terry Shrunk Plaza makes this look like an even worse trade.
