NE Lombard & Union, 1937

The intersection of NE Lombard (here looking west) and Union Avenue in 1937 is a far cry from today’s busy and asphalt-rich area. Long before I-5 was built less than a mile to the west, 99-E was the way to get between Portland and Vancouver.

Great picture! I live on Lombard, about four blocks from this intersection. I have been searching for pictures of Lombard for some time. My house was built in 1927. Found the original building permit, etc. Thanks for the work you do on your site! Check it every day!

I will never look at this intersection the same way again! Thanks…..:)
